As part of this landmark collaboration, BBFS will become Southampton’s International Academy Partner (IAP), granting them access to the prestigious Southampton Football Club (SFC) Academy Performance Plan, which includes coaching philosophies, strategies, and curricula from youth levels U6 to U16. The agreement also promises to enhance player development through programs like staff visits, customized camps, and tournaments in India and England. Southampton’s academy has produced world-class talents such as Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alan Shearer, and many more. The collaboration will benefit aspiring Indian footballers by integrating European football techniques into the BBFS programs.
Key figures, including Bhaichung Bhutia, Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier, and Southampton Football Academy Director Andy Martino, attended the partnership announcement event. BBFS CEO Kishore Taid emphasized that this partnership would help raise the standard of football coaching in India and contribute to the long-term goal of producing international football stars. Southampton’s coaching philosophy and resources, including digital content, session plans, and remote learning opportunities, will be made available to BBFS coaches, focusing on grassroots development and creating a pipeline of world-class football coaches in India.
