Australian Govt cancels Khalistani referendum event in Sydney
The Government of India has visibly taken the fight against Khalistani extremism outside the borders as governments of multiple Western countries have begun cracking down against pro-Khalistan organisations. A new report by The Australia Today says that the Aussie authorities have denied permission for an event planned by the pro-Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) that was due to take place in Blacktown City located in Sydney. This decision was taken after hundreds of complaints were made against this event and was executed, citing risks to the staff, the public, and council property.
India has been making proactive efforts against the Khalistani movement ever since their mob vandalised Indian Embassy in London. Visuals emerged all over the internet where the mob lowered the Indian flag and tried to hoist their own flag. This incident was strongly taken up with the British government by India’s Foreign Ministry, and as a sign of protest, the Ministry of Home Affairs removed the barricades outside of U.K.’s Embassy in India as well. The Indian government had recently taken Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh into custody along with his close aide in a move towards tackling all separatist and anti-India movements both within the borders and outside.
