Google has launched Gemini Live on Android, a mobile conversational experience that allows users to have free-flowing conversations with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant. This feature is available to Gemini Advanced subscribers in English. It offers a more natural and interactive way to engage with the AI. Users can interrupt Gemini mid-response to dive deeper into a point or pause a conversation and return to it later. Gemini Live also works hands-free, allowing users to continue conversations with the app in the background or when their phone is locked. Additionally, Gemini Live will have ten new voices to choose from, offering users more options for personalization.
In the coming weeks, Google will release new extensions for Gemini, including integrations with apps like Keep, Tasks, and Utilities and expanded features on YouTube Music. A Calendar extension will also be released soon, allowing users to take a photo of a concert flier, ask Gemini if they’re free that day, and even set a reminder to buy tickets. Gemini can also be used to ask questions about videos on YouTube or other screens and drag and drop generated images into Gmail and Google Messages. Google promises to focus on speed and quality with Gemini in the coming months and will launch deeper integrations with Google Home, Phone, and Messages.
