Arvind Kejriwal and Mahua Moitra to Face Interrogation Today
Trouble seems to be mounting for both Arvind Kejriwal and Mahua Moitra, who have been called on for questioning by different investigative agencies today. Delhi CM Kejriwal is facing heat for his party’s cabinet ministers’ involvement in the ‘Liquor Scam,’ which is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate. While Kejriwal has maintained his party’s innocence in this scam and claimed it to be a witch hunt against him launched by the Centre, the ED has already arrested his party colleagues Satyendra Jain, Sanjay Singh, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who have all been denied bail from the courts.
On the other hand, TMC MP Mahua Moitra is being investigated for the ‘Cash for Query’ case, wherein she allegedly took cash and gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to raise questions against businessman Gautam Adani in Parliament. Furthermore, Moitra is also accused of sharing her Parliamentary login details, which were used from outside the country. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has consequently launched a probe on this matter, which will be carried out by the Parliamentary Ethics Panel. Arvind Kejriwal and Mahua Moitra will both face their respective interrogations on November 2.
