Journalist Suyesha Savant’s disturbing discovery on an Air India flight from Delhi to New York has sparked outrage. She found a cockroach in her omelet, which she and her two-year-old child had almost finished eating. Savant claimed to have suffered from food poisoning after consuming the contaminated meal. Air India apologized and requested her booking details to investigate the matter. This incident is not isolated. In January, another journalist found a stone in their Air India meal.
There have also been reports of drunk passengers urinating on others and smoking in toilet facilities. These incidents raise serious concerns about Air India’s food safety and quality control. The airline must take immediate action to address these issues and ensure passenger well-being. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu have been notified. Swift action and stringent measures are necessary to prevent such incidents and restore passenger trust.
