Amritpal Singh’s wife gets detained at Amritsar airport
A critical new development has taken place in the hunt for Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh earlier today. Amritpal Singh’s wife, Kirandeep Kaur was detained at the Amritsar Airport after she tried to flee to London. This news comes just a few days after Punjab Police and other government agencies shifted gears to capture him by passing on the investigation to NIA. As per an India Today report, the Immigration Authority of the airport caught hold of her after notifications were passed to not allow any of Amritpal’s relatives to fly abroad.
It has been further reported that she is actually a British citizen since she holds a UK passport. Kaur will not be allowed to leave anywhere outside of India for investigation purposes. While there is no concrete evidence stacked against her to prove she was involved in her husband’s anti-India activities. The police also have custody of several aides of Amritpal Singh that were involved with him in his pro-separatist activities. Singh continues to remain at large, despite being spotted in multiple CCTV footage ever since his arrest was sanctioned by the government.
