Amitabh Bachchan pays tributes to Satyajit Ray with a rare click

May 2nd marks the birth anniversary of one of India’s greatest filmmakers – Satyajit Ray. On this special day, Indian cinema’s other veteran, Amitabh Bachchan, paid his respects to the filmmaker by posting a very rare picture that captures the two in a candid moment together. In this picture, Bachchan Sr. appears to be reading a script as Ray observes him carefully. Amitabh Bachchan wrote in his Instagram caption, “With the Great man himself .. Satyajit Ray or as we all called him fondly MANEK Da .. the closest I ever got to have the privilege of working with him .. in remembrance … on his Birth Anniversary May 2 nd 🙏🏻.”  

During his illustrious career in films, Satyajit Ray gained worldwide recognition for his work which is filled with classics like Pathar Panchali, Aparajito and Apur Sansar. His films have won several prestigious awards like National Film Awards, Golden Lion and Golden Bear. He was also awarded Bharat Ratna by the Government of India after his passing in 1992. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan is also celebrated globally for his several heart-winning acting performances and has been awarded Padma Shri in 1984 and consequently, Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
