Actor Pradeep K. Vijayan found dead at his Residence
Actor Pradeep K. Vijayan, known for his roles as both a villain and a comedian in numerous films, was found dead at his residence
A friend discovered his body after Pradeep K. Vijayan had not responded to calls for two days. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of death, with initial suspicions pointing to a head injury or a heart attack. Pradeep K. Vijayan, who was unmarried and lived alone in the Palavakkam area of Chennai, had reportedly complained of shortness of breath and dizziness prior to his death. When he failed to respond to his friend’s calls, the friend visited his home and, finding the door locked, alerted the police. The police broke into the house and discovered Pradeep’s body, which they believe had been there for two days. The body has been taken to Royapettah Government Hospital in Chennai for a postmortem to confirm the exact cause of death.
As of now, the police have not issued an official statement. Pradeep K. Vijayan, also known as Pradeep Nair Pappu, made his Tamil cinema debut with ‘Sonna Puriyathu’ in 2013. He gained popularity for his role as Poornachandran in P. Ramesh’s 2014 movie ‘Thegidi,’ where he played a detective. His last appearance was in the 2023 film ‘Rudhran’ by S. Kathiresan. A tech graduate, Pradeep worked extensively in the Kollywood industry. Singer-actor Soundarya Bala Nandakumar expressed her shock and grief on social media, reminiscing about Pradeep as a brother figure. “You will be terribly missed. Pradeep K. Vijayan, Anna, may your soul rest in peace,” she wrote. The sudden demise of Pradeep K. Vijayan has left the film industry and his fans in mourning as they await further details from the ongoing investigation.
