Anita Lallian, a real estate developer and film producer of Indian descent, recently acquired the Los Angeles home of the late “Friends” star Matthew Perry. In the upscale Pacific Palisades area, Lillian purchased the property for $8.55 million (approximately Rs 72 crore). Describing her attraction to the home, Lallian emphasized her admiration for its luxurious architecture and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. She expressed that her decision to buy the residence was rooted in a genuine love for the property rather than Perry’s celebrity history. Before moving in, she and her family held a traditional puja ceremony, inviting a priest from Arizona to bless the house, blending personal tradition with respect for the home’s unique character.

Reflecting on Matthew Perry’s legacy, Lallian mentioned her intention to preserve the home’s distinctive elements, such as the pool’s Batman logo, a nod to Matthew Perry’s personality and lasting impact. The property, originally built in 1965, spans 3,500 square feet and includes four bedrooms, wine storage, and expansive glass walls that capture sweeping ocean views. Perry had bought it in 2020 for $6 million, and its previous ownership adds a layer of sentimentality for fans. Known globally for his role as Chandler Bing in the beloved sitcom Friends, Perry passed away in October 2023 and was found unresponsive in his LA home’s hot tub. His untimely death was attributed to the acute effects of ketamine and accidental drowning. Perry, who candidly discussed his struggles with addiction in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing (2022), inspired many through his openness and desire to help others.
