Bollywood star Govinda is on the road to recovery after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. His son, Yashwardhan, provided a health update during a Diwali party, sharing that his father’s stitches have been removed, and he’s expected to start dancing again within a few weeks. Dressed in a black kurta with golden embroidery, Yashwardhan reassured fans, saying, “He’s much better now, the stitches have been removed… He’ll start dancing in a couple of weeks.” The incident occurred earlier this month when Govinda accidentally discharged his revolver while cleaning it. The mishap led to a leg injury that required 8 to 10 stitches, as confirmed by Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, who oversaw his treatment. Following a brief hospital stay and discharge.
He soon held a press conference to clarify the details and dispel any rumors surrounding the incident. Recalling the events, Govinda explained that he was alone and preparing for a trip to Kolkata for a show early in the morning when the accident happened. The gun fell and fired, leading to a deep wound that initially left him in shock. “It was around 4:45-5:00 am… I felt a jhatka (shock), and then saw… there was a fountain (of blood),” Govinda recounted. Instead of alarming others, he decided to take control, calling his doctor for immediate assistance. Dr. Agarwal and Govinda then rushed to Criti Care Hospital, where he received prompt treatment.
