Vegetable Seller from Jamshedpur Nabbed in Salman Khan Extortion Threat
The Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Jamshedpur in connection with a recent threat message sent to Bollywood actor Salman Khan
The Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Jamshedpur in connection with a recent threat message sent to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The accused, identified as Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller, was apprehended on Wednesday. The case arose after a threatening message demanding Rs 5 crore was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline, prompting an immediate police investigation. Authorities swiftly launched a probe and traced the message’s origin to Jharkhand, leading them to Jamshedpur. Teams were dispatched to the location, and another team was sent to Guwahati to follow up on leads. As the police closed in on the sender, the Mumbai Traffic Police reportedly received an “apology” message from the same number. It isn’t a new occurrence wherein Salman has received death threats. Earlier this year, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a known criminal organization, had made death threats against the actor.
In April, suspected members of the gang fired shots outside Khan’s residence in Bandra. It led to heightened security measures around the actor, who remains a significant public figure in India. In a separate incident, the Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the same gang to assassinate Khan, further intensifying the security concerns surrounding him. The involvement of the Bishnoi gang in these threats has prompted law enforcement to stay vigilant, given their history of violent acts and organized crime. While the recent arrest brings some closure to the latest threat case, the continued targeting of Khan by criminal elements highlights the ongoing risks faced by public figures in India. The police are expected to conduct further investigations to ensure the actor’s safety and identify potential accomplices.
