Mike Landau, CEO and founder of Park My Fleet, a company he launched during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, has committed to keeping his business fully remote. Initially, Landau believed in the traditional office environment to foster team cohesion and efficient work. However, the pandemic forced him to reassess his views. Starting his company remotely, he realized that a team could still build solid relationships and succeed without being physically together. This shift in perspective broadened his hiring pool, enabling him to recruit talent from anywhere in the world. Landau highlighted the advantages of remote work, particularly in enhancing work-life balance. He expressed satisfaction that employees no longer need to worry about long commutes and can manage personal responsibilities like school pickups without sacrificing productivity. This flexibility, he noted, contributes to high employee retention. Although most of Park My Fleet’s employees are based in the U.S.,

Landau has also assembled tech teams in Israel and Costa Rica, reinforcing his global recruitment strategy. He fully supports a work-from-anywhere policy, even sharing his experiences working from vacation spots like European hotels and beachfront properties. Despite some roles, such as vehicle technicians and sales personnel, requiring a physical presence, most of his workforce operates remotely. Landau sees no need to enforce a return-to-office mandate, arguing that remote work allows his company to grow more nimbly. He contrasted his approach with Amazon’s return-to-office policy, noting that while it may suit large corporations, remote work is the best path forward for a dynamic and growing company like his. “I have no intention of mandating a return to the office,” Landau firmly stated.
