Congress assures their disciples that they’ll support them despite their Ill-Doing
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has reaffirmed the Congress party’s support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah amid the controversy surrounding the MUDA land ‘scam’ case.
Shivakumar accused the central BJP government of manipulating the Governor’s office to target Siddaramaiah and destabilize the state government. Shivakumar declared that the entire Congress party and government stand behind Siddaramaiah, who will continue as Chief Minister and not succumb to pressure. He criticized the Governor’s decision to grant permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah as “anti-constitutional” and a blatant violation of legal protocol. Siddaramaiah had earlier termed the Governor’s decision “totally unconstitutional” and vowed to challenge it legally.
Shivakumar accused the BJP of orchestrating a conspiracy against Siddaramaiah, a leader from the backward classes who has risen to the chief minister-ship for a second time. Shivakumar cited similar instances in other states where issues regarding the Governor’s conduct have sparked controversy. He highlighted previous cases involving other political figures where inquiries were handled with due process, contrasting them with the action taken against Siddaramaiah. He emphasized that the Governor’s office should not become a puppet of the BJP and that the government’s welfare projects will continue uninterrupted.
