The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa, forecasting heavy rainfall on Tuesday, July 23
An orange alert has also been declared for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Odisha. The IMD predicts hefty rainfall in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa until July 24. Madhya Pradesh may experience heavy rains until July 24, while similar weather conditions are expected in Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat on July 25 and 26. Additionally, heavy wet spells are forecast for Madhya Pradesh and Odisha on July 23 and 24. The IMD has indicated the likelihood of hefty rainfall on July 23 in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, and in Rajasthan on July 23 and 24.
Heavy precipitation is also anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan until July 26 and Punjab and Haryana until July 24. Uttar Pradesh is expected to have heavy rains until July 26. In a press release dated July 22, the IMD stated that thunderstorms and lightning over Northeast India would accompany widespread light to moderate rainfall for the next five days. Heavy rain is expected in Assam and Meghalaya until July 27. The north-eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur are forecasted to have wet spells until July 24. Hot and humid weather conditions will prevail over Rajasthan until tomorrow. At the same time, above-normal temperatures with high humidity are likely in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi until July 24.
