Sharad Pawar made remarks on his nephew Ajit pawar for his effective return!

Sharad Pawar, founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has made remarks regarding the potential return of his nephew, Ajit Pawar, who split from the NCP in July last year

This split occurred when Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde government. Following this, the Election Commission recognized Ajit Pawar’s faction as the legitimate NCP, granting it the party name and ‘clock’ symbol. In contrast, Sharad Pawar’s faction was designated ‘Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar’ with the symbol of a man blowing a traditional trumpet. Recently, Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal met Sharad Pawar to discuss the Maratha quota issue and OBC objections. This meeting at Sharad Pawar’s residence, ‘Silver Oak,’ in Mumbai, signaled ongoing political engagements within the state. Meanwhile, several NCP leaders and corporators, including Ajit Gavhane, Rahul Bhosale, Yash Sane, and Pankaj Bhalekar, returned to Sharad Pawar’s camp after resigning from Ajit Pawar’s faction.

Sharad Pawar, buoyed by his faction’s growing strength, emphasized inclusivity within the party, stating that if Ajit Pawar sought to return, the decision would involve consultation with all party members who had stood by him. “Everyone has a place in the house. As far as the party is concerned, I wouldn’t take the decision myself; all those who stood with me will be consulted,” Sharad Pawar says to the Media-House. In the recent Lok Sabha polls, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP, secured 30 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. In contrast, the BJP saw a significant drop, winning only 9 seats compared to 23 in the 2019 elections. Its allies, Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction, won 7 and 1 seat, respectively.
