A never-ending Reel-istic experience at Goram Ghat
In Rajasthan’s Pali, a young couple narrowly escaped death by jumping off the 90-foot-high Goram Ghat railway bridge to avoid an oncoming train
The incident occurred on Saturday, July 13, when 22-year-old Rahul Mewada and 20-year-old Jhanvi took photos and failed to notice the approaching train. As the train neared, the couple, caught without an escape route, panicked and jumped into the deep gorge below. Both sustained severe injuries, with Rahul’s condition being particularly critical. The train, moving slowly, halted after the driver spotted the couple. Eyewitnesses reported that the couple was engrossed in their photo shoot on the bridge and were oblivious to the train until it was too close for them to escape safely.
The couple’s desperate jump, a brave and life-saving measure, resulted in severe injuries. After the incident, they were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. The Goram Ghat Bridge, known for its scenic views, is famous with photographers. However, this incident has prompted local officials to consider stricter safety measures to prevent such accidents. The bridge’s picturesque setting attracts many visitors, but the recent event highlights the dangers of being distracted on active train tracks.
