Congress busy imposing Modi with lack of empathy; whereas Modi is busy addressing global affluence

The Congress criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Manipur since violence erupted in May last year, contrasting this with Rahul Gandhi’s multiple visits

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated, “While PM Modi goes to Moscow, Rahul Gandhi is heading to Assam and Manipur.” He accused Modi of neglecting the crisis in Manipur, pointing out that Gandhi’s visit would be his third since the violence began. In contrast, Modi has not visited or met with local leaders despite the ongoing issues. Modi is visiting Russia on July 8 and 9 for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. Meanwhile, Gandhi’s itinerary includes traveling from Delhi to Silchar, then to Jiribam, Imphal, Churachandpur, and Moirang in Bishnupur district, where he will visit relief camps and meet Governor Anusuiya Uikey.

In his recent parliamentary speech, Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of inciting civil war in Manipur through its policies and criticized Modi for ignoring the state’s plight. In response, Modi stated in the Rajya Sabha that the central government is working with the state government to restore normalcy, mentioning over 500 arrests and more than 11,000 FIRs registered. Additionally, he noted the flood situation in Manipur and the deployment of National Disaster Response Force teams. Violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur since May last year has resulted in approximately 200 deaths and thousands displaced due to widespread arson. The Congress continues highlighting the Prime Minister’s lack of direct engagement with the crisis, emphasizing Rahul Gandhi’s active involvement.
