An edible replica of the T20 Trophy was prepared for the celebration of Team India’s arrival in Delhi
To celebrate Team India’s T20 World Cup victory, ITC Maurya in Delhi has organized a grand reception, including a special breakfast and a meticulously crafted cake
The cake, designed in the colors of Team India’s jersey and featuring a chocolate replica of the T20 trophy, is a tribute to their triumph. The victorious team, led by Rohit Sharma, arrived at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after being delayed in Barbados by Hurricane Beryl. BCCI secretary Jay Shah arranged a special Air India flight to safely bring the team and their families home. The team will stay at the luxurious ITC Maurya in Chanakyapuri before heading to their respective homes. Executive Chef Shivneet Pahoja shared details about the preparations, highlighting that the cake mimics the team’s jersey and includes a chocolate trophy.
“This is our welcome to the winning team,” Pahoja said. He also noted that the breakfast menu will feature the best Indian cuisine, including the players’ favorite dishes like chole bhature. “We wanted to give them a taste of home,” he added. Emphasizing ITC Maurya’s commitment to sustainability, Chef Pahoja mentioned that the breakfast will include healthy options made with millet, balancing indulgence with nutrition. Additionally, culinary treats like fine chocolates will be placed in the players’ rooms to make them feel at home after their significant victory. The hotel is abuzz with activity as preparations reach their peak to welcome the triumphant cricket team.
