Modi pinpoints Proper Conduct during the parliamentary proceedings
At a critical National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of proper conduct during parliamentary proceedings
This meeting occurred amid significant turmoil in the Lok Sabha over issues such as the NEET paper leak and Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s controversial remarks about the BJP-RSS and Hindus. During his address, Modi advised NDA members to adhere to parliamentary rules and maintain the decorum necessary for being influential parliamentarians. He underscored the primary responsibility of every Member of Parliament (MP), irrespective of party affiliation, to serve the nation. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju conveyed Modi’s message, highlighting the Prime Minister’s emphasis on prioritizing the country above all else.
Modi’s guidance included instructions for MPs to effectively present constituency matters by parliamentary rules. He also encouraged MPs to develop expertise in broader issues of national interest, such as water, environment, and social sectors. Rijiju noted that Modi’s advice is a valuable mantra for all MPs, particularly those serving their first term. The meeting came after a heated session in the Lok Sabha, where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack on the BJP. Gandhi accused the ruling party of fostering communal divisions, which led to significant backlash from BJP members. The controversy intensified when Prime Minister Modi rebuked Gandhi for labeling the entire Hindu community as violent.
Modi’s advice to NDA MPs reflects his vision of a disciplined and service-oriented approach to parliamentary duties. His call for maintaining conduct and expertise in various domains aims to strengthen the functionality and effectiveness of the parliamentary system, ensuring that MPs fulfill their roles with integrity and dedication.
