Kejriwal’s associate misbehaved with Swati Maliwal
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) acknowledged that one of Arvind Kejriwal’s aides “misbehaved” with Swati Maliwal, the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, inside the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. Swati Maliwal claimed she was assaulted by Kejriwal’s assistant, Bibhav Kumar, but did not officially file a complaint. AAP MP Sanjay Singh confirmed the incident, stating it occurred in Kejriwal’s drawing room while Maliwal was waiting to meet him.
Despite Maliwal not filing a formal complaint, the Delhi Police were notified, and Maliwal visited the police station but left without complaining due to medical examination requirements. The incident sparked criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), referring to Kejriwal’s residence as a “boxing ring” following a prior alleged assault on former Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash. Kejriwal has reportedly taken notice of the incident and promised appropriate action against the individual involved.
