Dutee Chand aligns with the Worried Mothers to fight against Vaping and other Tobacco Devices

National sprint champion and Olympian Dutee Chand has aligned with Mothers Against Vaping to combat the rising threat of new-age tobacco devices among Indian youth. Renowned for her athletic achievements, Chand joins a league of sports icons like Baichung Bhutia and Deepa Malik to support this cause. The coalition aims to curb the promotion of e-cigarettes, vapes, and other similar products targeting children and teenagers. Chand’s endorsement amplifies the organization’s efforts, shedding light on the health risks associated with vaping. 

She emphasized the need for collective action to protect youngsters from distractions like vaping that could hinder their future aspirations. Contrary to popular belief, vaping poses severe health risks, including lung injuries and addiction, fueled by the aggressive marketing tactics of multinational tobacco companies. Countries like India have already banned vaping devices due to their adverse effects, particularly on the youth. Mothers Against Vaping seeks broader support to eradicate these harmful devices from society, ensuring a safer environment for children and adolescents.
