Average Parties expressing remorse on taking a Jab at BJP

Akash Anand, the leading campaigner for the BSP, underscored the potential repercussions of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP. He warned that such actions could provoke retaliation, particularly from government agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which the BSP’s community may not be adequately prepared to handle.

He shared his view in an interview with the Indian Express, stating that on being attacked by someone, one may also have to be accountable for its retaliation. We know there will be retaliation if we target the BJP-led Central government, Modiji, or Amit Shahji. If not directly, the people around would be affected indirectly, and not capable of fighting ED, CBI, or local authorities is an added hassle.

Anand, who is BSP supremo Mayawati’s nephew and political successor, reiterated the strategic decision-making process of the party. He emphasized that decisions are made based on their impact on the people, the core voters of the BSP. He highlighted that Mayawati chooses to target politicians with careful consideration for the benefits or damages it may cause her people.

Anand, 28, brought to light the BSP’s resilience and stability, contrasting it with the decline of other opposition parties. He stated that while other parties are faltering, the BSP’s core vote remains intact. Despite facing challenges, according to Anand, the BSP has maintained its vote share in Lok Sabha elections since 2014.

He acknowledged the party’s performance in the 2019 general elections, where the BSP won ten Lok Sabha seats, but noted that four of those MPs have since joined the BJP. Despite this setback, the BSP has not aligned with the INDIA bloc of opposition parties in the current election. This strategic decision, while challenging, is aimed at maintaining the party’s integrity and ensuring the audience feels confident and secure in the BSP’s leadership.
