Mind-Boggling Kiddish Tech put to use: TapTap an innovative ticketing alternative
TapTap – a new innovative ticketing system was seen at Metro-One, featuring a contactless, wearable wristband designed to simplify metro commutes. According to Mumbai Metro One (MMOPL), the TapTap wristband is made from eco-friendly silicone-based material, ensuring it is gentle on the skin and hypoallergenic. The wristband is being offered as part of a special introductory deal priced at Rs. 200, giving commuters the convenience of “wearing their tickets” instead of carrying them. Tapping their wristbands at the AFC gates allows passengers to begin their journeys on Mumbai Metro One seamlessly. This new option is available at all customer care centers across the Metro One stations.
The creation of the TapTap wristband is a collaboration between Mumbai Metro One and Billbox Purewrist Tech Solutions, a respected provider of customized solutions in India’s payment and merchant ecosystem. These wristbands can be recharged on buying, similar to the value pass. An MMOPL official stated, “This wristband significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to traditional payment methods like plastic cards. It operates without batteries, is waterproof, and is easy to use.” In response to commuter demand, Mumbai Metro One has expanded its ticketing options beyond single journeys.
