No Camera on your Computer? with latest update on Windows11, use your Android phones as a camera
The most recent addition to the Windows Insider program introduces the capability to utilize your Android phone or tablet as a webcam. Windows 11 users enrolled in the Insider program can now employ any Android device running version 9.0 or higher as a webcam during video conferencing sessions. To enable this feature, users also need to have the Link to Windows app installed on their mobile device, with Microsoft specifying that version 1.24012* or higher is necessary.
To initiate the setup process, users must ensure they are part of the Windows Insider program and navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices. Then select “Manage devices” and grant permission for their PC to access their Android phone. Once configured, users will receive a prompt message confirming the successful connection of their Android phone or tablet to their PC.
Microsoft additionally reveals that users can seamlessly switch between the front and back cameras, apply effects, and access recent photos from their camera roll directly on their Windows PC. The company also disclosed that these new Insider features are being gradually rolled out.
