Sam Altman – OpenAI Conflict: Microsoft Emerges as Real Winner

The tech world witnessed an unexpected turn of events as the Sam Altman – OpenAI conflict began unfolding a few days ago. It first came to light after Altman was fired as the OpenAI CEO by the Board, even as Microsoft looked to acquire the company at a price of $10 billion. Even after Altman’s firing, rumours suggesting his return to the position did rounds in the media, but it appears that Microsoft had other plans. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has recently announced that they have welcomed Sam Altman and OpenAI President Greg Brockman in their company.

This development in the Sam Altman – OpenAI conflict has come as a jolt to one and all who were expecting Altman to take charge of OpenAI again. Nadella has announced that Altman and Brockman will be heading Microsoft’s own AI research team that will develop its own Artificial Intelligence system in times to come. This move is being hailed as a massive business coup in the tech world by Satya Nadella and Microsoft. While the results of this decision will have certain setbacks for both Open AI and Altman, who will have to start over despite knowing the deeper nuances of AI, Microsoft has emerged as the clear winner in this deal.
