PM Modi Expresses AI Deepfake Concerns to ChatGPT
There has been growing discussion around AI Deepkfake technology around the world as the threat of misinformation continues to increase along with the growth of Artificial Intelligence technology. Amid these rising concerns, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on the ChatGPT team to look into this matter. There have been a number of videos circulating on the internet showcasing PM Modi’s face, which are fake. Similar AI Deepfake videos of other public figures have also gone viral, which has prompted the Centre to act on this issue.
Meanwhile, Sam Altman has been fired from his position as the CEO of OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT. The company has expressed its lack of confidence in his leadership, citing that the reason behind his removal. However, the company also addressed his contributions to the company and expressed their gratitude for him. The news has come as a jolt to the tech world, as there were no visible signs of differences between Altman and the AI giant. Altman has been consequently replaced by Mira Murati, who has taken charge of the position on an interim basis. The company is yet to reveal the measures it will undertake to tackle this AI Deepfake matter.
