Why Uncooked Food Must Be Avoided in Monsoon
Consuming uncooked food is a rapidly spreading habit in the modern day, where people opt for instant or raw food items. Many would assume that this only applies to processed and outside food, but it also applies to your daily veggies and meat. While eating vegetables and meat is obviously good for your health, cooking them in an uncooked form can be detrimental to your health, especially during the monsoon season. The major reason why uncooked food cannot be vouched for is not just because eating it in raw form can disrupt your digestion process but also because it is not heated.
Cooking requires constant heating and seasoning of food ingredients, which eliminates all germs and bacteria on raw food items. The monsoon season increases viral and bacterial germs on vegetables and meat, which are often sold in open-air markets in highly unsanitary conditions. The presence of flies and other insects in such places only multiplies the rate at which these germs spread. Uncooked food must hence be avoided at all costs, especially during the monsoon.
