Sonia Gandhi Asks Mamata Banerjee to Attend Oppn. Meet
Sonia Gandhi has taken charge of holding an intervention for all opposition parties to ally against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which will take place around May next year. This meeting will be taking place in Bengaluru, wherein 24 opposition parties are slated to participate, but Trinamool Congress Chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee refused to attend it amid the opposition attacks on her Panchayat poll violence that recently took place in the state as per Republic.
However, Sonia Gandhi herself dialed Banerjee to persuade her to attend this key meeting. After holding brief talks with Gandhi, Banerjee has finally agreed to participate and discuss their further course of action to counter the BJP. Congress has also invited former BJP allies like Shiv Sena to attend this meeting, where possibilities of a grand alliance will be discussed. BJP, on the other hand, is also planning its strategy for the upcoming elections by bringing its star campaigners like PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and other leaders on the front foot.
