Robert Downey Jr. To Return as Iron Man in ‘Captain America 4’?
Robert Downey Jr. has received worldwide praise for playing the role of tech-genius billionaire Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man. He played the character last in Avengers: Endgame, which was also the last time Chris Evans played Steve Rogers (Captain America). While MCU’s global fanbase has missed watching Tony Stark’s funnily eccentric yet heroic character on screen, there was no news on whether he would ever play Iron Man again. However, it appears that Robert Downey Jr. may don the Iron suit once again in Captain America 4 after author Nawar Shora shared his picture on the sets.
This news will come as a welcome surprise for all MCU fans, but the nature of his return is not clear yet. There is no confirmation on whether his character will be revived or whether Robert Downey Jr. will reappear as Tony Stark as a memory. Regardless, his fans will be delighted to see him back as Iron Man on screen after years. In Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark’s character gets killed off after he snaps his fingers to kill Thanos and his army using the infinity stones. Steve Rogers eventually retires from his role as Captain America and passes on his shield to Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie), who will now be seen as the lead in Captain America 4.
