Oceangate Confirms All 5 Passengers Dead After Implosion
The frantic round-the-clock search for the submerged Oceangate submarine has come to an unfortunate conclusion as all five passengers have been declared dead. The submarine carrying the passengers to give a tour of the sunken Titanic ship was said to have imploded, leading to their deaths, as per Associated Press. The passenger submarine had 96 hours of oxygen supply left, which was expected to run out by Sunday. However, its debris has now been found nearly 500 metres away from the Titanic, which confirms that the submarine has indeed imploded.
The White House condoled their deaths with a statement which reads, “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives on the Titan. They have been through a harrowing ordeal over the past few days, and we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.” They have also thanked the US Coast Guard as well as their Canadian, British and French counterparts for their tireless efforts to find and rescue the submarine. Oceangate has also issued a statement to mourn the loss of lives during this deep-sea voyage.
