How skipper Sunil Chhetri and Team are Rebranding Indian Football 

Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri yesterday put up a stellar performance against Pakistan in the SAFF championship 2023. He drove India to a praiseworthy 4-0 win against Pakistan, where he scored three outstanding goals. While the journey towards competing with the best teams in the FIFA world cup is going to be a tough journey, it would be fair to say that skipper Sunil Chhetri and his boys are turning things around in Indian football’s favour with their winning attitude and growing stats.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently said that it does not have the capital to host major tournaments in India, given that a majority of our population watches cricket. The massive viewership expectedly brings more brand endorsement, which ultimately raises the BCCI’s capital. However, the heroics of Suni Chetri and his teammates are being widely appreciated and celebrated by Indian netizens. This will ultimately draw more people in India to watch this sport as it steadily merges with the mainstream. A major investment to increase domestic and international games in India can yield surprisingly good returns, as the popularity trends clearly indicate that more Indian viewers are getting drawn towards football.
