PM Modi to Academics and Health Experts: You Made Us Proud
In his current State Visit to the United States of America, PM Modi has interacted with the Indian diaspora with a specific focus on academics and healthcare experts and think tanks based in the country. A big chunk of America’s professors, doctors and other healthcare experts belong to the Indian community, and the Prime Minister made sure to emphasise on how their success in this sector is a matter of pride for India. Professor Rattan Lal, who spoke to the PM, said in a statement, “It was an excellent meeting. He has made us very proud of being Indian. We hope that we will have an opportunity to serve India through the policy that PM Modi has.”
PM Modi also sent out a couple of tweets showcasing a few moments of his interaction with academics and health experts. On the health front, he discussed the further prospects of eliminating tuberculosis and modernisation of healthcare in India, whereas his focus on the academic field was to “further strengthen the education sector in India with a focus on skills and innovation.” PM Modi will also lead the celebrations of International Yoga Day in the United Nations Headquarters, which is based in New York. He will be in the United States till June 24, and will hold key discussions with President Joe Biden to strengthen their bilateral and geopolitical ties.
