Kapil Sibal criticises PM Modi for his ‘Shahi Parivaar’ remark; says Indira, Rajiv Gandhi ‘bled’ for India
India is rapidly heading towards election season and heated political attacks are being made at all ends. Former Congress Union Minister Kapil Sibal, who had served during the UPA governments, has recently come to the defence of the Gandhi family despite not being in their party anymore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called them ‘Shahi Parivar’ during his public rally for the upcoming Karnataka elections, which prompted Sibal to defend them, saying that former Prime Ministers Indira and Rajiv Gandhi had ‘bled’ for the nation, as per PTI.
Kapil Sibal had recently quit Congress and was later elected as a Rajya Sabha member with the backing of the Samajwadi Party. The voting for the ongoing Karnataka elections will take place on May 10, and the election results will be consequently declared on May 13. However, all political parties now have eyes on the General elections that will take place next year around April and May, where voting will take place pan India in various phases where voters will decide whether the current Modi-led BJP government continues to remain at the centre or not.
