Amid the slow start of Guardians of the Galaxy 3, is Marvel losing its craze in India?
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has opened to a slow box office start in India, collecting Rs. 7.30 crores in India, which is lesser than ‘The Kerala Story’, which has minted Rs. 7.50 crores, as per Sacnlik. The first-weekend collection of any film indicates how well it will perform in the future, and the current numbers show that this film will record an average performance in the country. This may come as troubling news for Marvel Studios, as India has a tremendous Marvel fanbase.
Marvel’s previous release in India, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, also yielded poor returns as the audience showed up in small numbers. The craze for Marvel films thus seems to be going down, but Marvel has big plans in its current phase as they continue to work on Avengers: Kang Dynasty. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will be looking to revisiting their further course of action to bring back the hype for MCU in India.
