EAM Dr S. Jaishankar gears up for a 4-nation visit in Latin America
EAM Dr S. Jaishankar has remained in the headlines ever since he took over the External Affairs office, owing to his proactive foreign policy. His aggressive approach towards work has made him one of the strongest names in the cabinet of Modi-government. As per PTI, he is about to begin a nine-day tour to four Latin American countries – Guyana, Panama, Columbia and the Dominican Republic between April 21st and 29th, where he will engage with the top leadership of these countries.
This will mark Jaishankar’s first visit to Latin America and the Caribbean region as India’s External Affairs Minister. He will be discussing several bilateral issues with all these countries and taking up issues of interest for all the parties. Jaishankar will be in Guyana from April 21 to 23, followed by Panama from April 24 to 25. He will then head to Columbia from April 25 to 27 and will finally end his tour in the Dominican Republic. Dr S. Jaishankar recently made a big announcement that India is currently discussing means to achieve a Free Trade Agreement with Russia ahead of the much-awaited G20 Summit that India will host this year.
