Ambedkar Jayanti: President Murmu and PM Modi pay tributes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is among the most revered leaders of the post-independence era. On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Modi has accompanied President Murmu to pay their respects in honour of his 132nd birth anniversary. They were seen garlanding Ambedkar’s tall frame in a well-organised event in New Delhi. PM Modi tweeted on this occasion, “Hundreds of salutes to Pujya Babasaheb, who dedicated his life for the empowerment of the deprived and exploited sections of the society, on his birth anniversary. Jai Bheem!”
President Murmu also took to Twitter and said, “A symbol of knowledge and prodigy, Dr. Ambedkar worked untiringly, even in adverse circumstances, as an educationist, legal expert, economist, politician and social reformer and spread knowledge for the welfare of the nation. His basic mantra- Educate, Organise & struggle to bring the deprived community into the mainstream of society, will always remain relevant”. Dr. Ambedkar is regarded for his relentless work towards eradicating cast discrimination and standing up for the marginalised. His massive contributions in laying the foundations of Indian democracy have earned him the title of ‘Architect of the Indian Constitution.’
