5,880 Covid cases recorded in the last 24 hours
There has been a pan-India spike in covid cases as the numbers have constantly risen in different parts of the country. The Union Health Ministry has recently reported this number with an aim to caution the masses of the rapidly spreading cases. Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has held multiple meetings with state health ministers and other senior officials to decide and implement all the necessary measures to restrict this spread as much as possible. A big share of these numbers belongs to Mumbai and Delhi, which have recorded a total of 788 and 699 cases, respectively. Four people have died in Delhi, but it was reported that Covid was not the leading cause in 3 of those cases.
With this new update, the active caseload has risen to over 35,000. Unfortunately, 14 more deaths have been reported in the said time period from Covid. Various mock drills are being conducted in health centres should the cases increase even more in the coming few days. Both public and private institutions have been notified to participate. These mock drills will be taking place on the 10th and 11th of April in hospitals all over the country to ramp up preparedness for this escalating situation.
